♥ Make It Monday #80: Making Garland ♥

♥♥♥ My 2nd post of the day! ♥♥♥

I'm back!! This is a card and little heart trinket box that I made for this week's PTI "Make It Monday" Challenge. It is called "Making Garland". Ashley made a fab video showing how to make cute little garland for your projects using stamped images.

I am going to send this little set to my sister, who I miss so much! Not sure yet what I'm gonna put in the little heart box yet though! I had a lot of fun making the cute flower garland. I used stamps from the new 'Heart-2-Heart' Mini Stamp Set as well as the 'Heart-2-Heart' Die Set.

I stamped the flowers and leaves in different pastel colors and used some pink and aqua bakers twine.

This is the sentiment on the inside.

The cute Heart Tin is also by Papertrey Ink.

I added some lace trim around it as well as a new Prima Typo Zipper. Love these!! Now it's ready to be filled with something sweet! Just not sure what yet! hehe

Well, the house is quiet! Antonio is up at my parents house until tomorrow and Santino is sleeping! So I guess I'll go and finish putting clothes away! Fun Stuff!!

Enjoy your night!

♥ Party Day ♥

Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you all are having a good week so far! 6 more days until my son starts 1st grade...and my stomach is in knots! I hate that he will be away for a full day now! Am I being selfish? Does anyone else out there feel this way? How do some parents look forward to the day school starts?? I am already looking forward to the last day of school!! :)

Oh, well, onto other things! This is a card I made for this week's City Crafter Challenge called "Bake Sale". It is to include a baked item. So I chose this cute little chipboard cupcake from the Pretty Party line by Crate Paper. I just added some glitter over the top of it.

The papers, oval frame and banner are also from the same line. I added a Papertrey Ink felt tag made form the Tiny Tags Die Set as well as the Tiny Tags Stamp Set. The beautiful aqua colored felt is also by Papertrey Ink.

Speaking of PTI, I'll be right back with another post for their Make It Monday Challenge!

hugs....

♥ Simon Says...Anything Goes! ♥

Woo-Hoo! It's that time again...Anything Goes at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog! As long as it is some type of paper crafting, we want to see it! Cards, scrapbook layouts, altered creations, gifts, etc. So much fun!

This week the Simon Says DT is featuring products by Hero Arts. I just love this Guest Check Clear Stamp set by Hero Arts. It has so many versatile and fun stamps in it. I decided to make a little photo holder with the set.

I first adhered some paper by Kaiser Craft from the Vintage Timeless Paper Pad to a Wendy Vecchi Art Parts Spool Set. Ever see these before? They are so fun! Each package comes with enough "parts" to make 3 spools. (They are made from a Kraft colored material similar to a thick chipboard.) So many ideas for these!!

I then printed out a 4x6 sepia photo of my kids and just trimmed it down a bit and distressed the edges. I then ran the larger die from the Romantic Rectangles set by Spellbinders through my Cuttlebug with some vanilla cardstock. Adhere photo to die cut. I then added the stamped tag to the side using a Hero Arts Little Clothes Pin as well as some stamped "flag banners" to the rear side of the photo and some Hero Arts Accent Pearl Hearts directly onto the photo.

To make the actual photo holder, I simply hot glued a little clothes pin to a mini Maya Road Wooden Spool and then adhered that to the center of the large spool. And then to finish it off, I added some seam binding, lace trim, a Maya Road Ruler and a stamped spool of thread image from the Guest Check Set. This was so much fun to make! It would make a great gift for someone and it only took about an hour and a half to make.

And, don't forget, Heidi will generously give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!

Next week we will be having a fun Blog Hop at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog along with giveaways you won't want to miss!! ;)

Have a wonderful day!

♥ Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #79 ♥

I must admit that when it came to die cutting onto fabric, mine never came out right. So therefore, I gave up! Then I saw this week's Make It Monday challenge to make Fabric Die Cuts and I thought I'd give it another go. After watching Melissa Phillip's video, I realized what I was doing wrong! I wasn't adhering cardstock to the back of my fabric before die-cutting it! What an easy solution! Why didn't I think of that?! (Thanks Melissa! ;)

So I decided to use one of my all time fave Papertrey Ink stamp sets, Garden Variety. I used the Seed Packet Frame Die to die cut onto some pink gingham fabric and then stamped right onto the fabric itself. Love having texture on cards! I will be using fabric on my cards a lot more often now!

I also used some Bazzill Basics Vintage Marketplace paper, lace trim, Liquid Pearls and Bakers Twine. I just ordered a bunch of new things from Papertrey Ink and I am waiting with baited breath for them to arrive!! {swoon} :)

Well, I am now in Party Mode! Sunday is Santino's 2nd Birthday party! So I am off to order balloons and go shopping! I can't believe my baby is turning 2! And don't forget, you still have time to enter my latest giveaway! But please no Candy Chasers!! :(

Have a great rest of your week!!

♥ Simon Says.... Back to School ♥

My goodness!! This summer went fast! My Antonio starts 1st Grade in exactly 2 weeks from today! I'm happy for him but sad for me! I like when he's here with mommy! But regardless it's Back to School for him and also on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog! We want to see those cards for students and/or teachers! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

This week the Simon Says DT is featuring products by Sizzix! I chose to use this fun Notebook Embossing Folder from the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Collage and Notebook Embossing Folders Set. I simply ran it through my Cuttlebug with some Kraft cardstock and then ran a Sanding Block over the raised embossed edges to make it stand out a little more. I then inked the edges with some white ink.

I also used the new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Clear Stamp Set called 'Shoot for the Stars'. Love this fun set! So many possibilities!!

I finished up the card with some twine, Liquid Pearls, mini Maya Road Ruler and a real pencil.

And, don't forget, Heidi will generously give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!

And lastly, don't forget about the Special Anything Goes Children's Back to School Challenge! It runs the entire month of August and is exclusively for children the ages of 2 through 16! There will be 2 winners, each to receive a special Junior Stamper Kit! Good luck everyone!!

♥ ...smile is the beginning of love. ♥

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all are doing well! This week my kids are sick-free! Yippe! Me?? Not so much! I have had a sore throat for 2 days now and my head feels like a balloon! What is the deal with all of the summer viruses lately? But as long as my kids are well, that's all I really care about! Except this coming week I need to get ready for my son's 2nd Birthday party next Sunday. I can't believe it's been 2 years since Santino was born! And on the 5th of September, Antonio starts 1st grade! My stomach is already turning with the thought of my baby being in school full time now! I guess I am selfish! I like my babies being home here with me!! ;)

Here's my 2 boys sucking on lollipops. This was Santino's 2nd time having one and he was in his glory!! LOL They make me smile! :)

This card is for the current challenge at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog. Love this beautiful quote by Mother Teresa. What a beautiful and loving woman she was!

I also used some Cosmo Cricket chipboard, seam binding and Liquid Pearls. The beautiful Die Cut is Romantic Rectangles by Spellbinders. Does anyone out there in Blogland have these dies?? They have given me such a hard time! I love Spellbinders dies! There is nothing that compares to them! And I have many of them. But the Romantic Rectangles dies have given me such a hard time. After talking to Karen Haas at Spellbinders CS she told me to try using wax paper in between the die and paper. That helped in removing the paper from the die but now I have to use a paper piercer to remove all the little pieces of paper which is so time consuming. Any tips from anyone??

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I am going to "try" and rest up for the coming week.

hugs...
